You need to explain to them why you want to quit.  You also need to talk to them about the importance of their friendship to you and ask this person to obey your wishes and stop smoking around you.  This is very important.  It will be very difficult for you to stop, especially if you have been smoking for a really long time. You need to have a lot of will power and this can fail you if you are around people that are continuing to smoke. You are more willing to give in and do the same if they are doing it around you.

The next step you need to take to quit smoking weed will involve a lot of self reflection and insight. You need to think about the songs that you would listen to while you were smoking or favorite movies you would watch with your friends while you were smoking.  You need to remove these things from your life.  This does not mean that you will never be able to enjoy these things again.  However, you will need to avoid them until you know that you have beaten this addiction and you are strong enough to enjoy them without wanting to smoke.  Do not throw these things out just simply place them somewhere so that you will not have to look at them everyday and be tempted to fall back into your old habits.

If you were purchasing your product from a certain person, you will want to avoid that person as well.  You may need to find a different traveling route if you once had to drive by this persons house.  Find a different way around town so that you are not tempted to stop and see this individual.  You do not need to see your friends there and have the urge to stop and mingle.  Avoid these locations while you have the will power to do so.  Just remember that it will get easier, it just takes time.

In order to be successful when you attempt to quit smoking weed you may need to find a support group that you can join.  You can look online or contact your local health care professionals.  These individuals may be able to direct you in the right direction.  It may be a good idea to see a counselor if you really believe that you can not quit smoking weed on your own.  There may be some underlying issues that you will need to work through in order to help you with this endeavor.

While trying to quit can be very difficult you need to remain strong.  Find people that support you and find your strength in them.  No one wants to see you addicted to marijuana and many people will help you get clean if you are serious about it.  Take the time to examine what you need to change and start there.  Once you are clean you will be glad you made the healthy choice to stop.
