Chicken is cheap, versatile and potentially healthy so here are four easy ways to cook chicken that are fast and easy.

Notice above that it states chicken is “potentially” healthy. That is because, obviously, the way that it is prepared has a lot to do with how healthy it is. Many people choose to bread and fry the chicken. In this case, the benefits are outweighed by the fat that is present in fried chicken.



Try one of these alternative ways to cook chicken that will result in a far healthier meal.

Grilled

Chicken cooked on the grill is delicious and can be used in a number of recipes.  You can season the chicken any way you’d like before placing it on the grill. Some people like to cook over cedar chips or other types of wood chips in order to give the chicken a smoky flavor.

Once the chicken has been cooked thoroughly on the grill, it can be used in a number of recipes.  It can also be used cold the next day. It can be mixed with a bit of mayonnaise to make chicken salad sandwiches or sliced and served on top of a salad.

Baked

Some people think that baked chicken has to be boring, but that is not true. There are no limits to the number of ways to make baked chicken taste great. 

Consider topping with fresh salsa for a spicy dish.  Or, mix a can of cream of mushroom soup with a little milk and garlic for a creamy chicken dish that is great served over rice.



Broiled

Broiled chicken is quick and easy to prepare and gives the chicken a nice crisp coating that many who usually fry their chicken will enjoy.

Broiled chicken is delicious on its own or when added to any number of recipes.

Sautéed

To sauté chicken, place a small amount of oil in a pan and then add either whole boneless chicken breasts or chicken breast pieces. You will want to continue to cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit or until the juices run clear.

Once the chicken is cooked, you can add other ingredients to the pan, such as vegetables, spices, pasta or rice.

When you sauté chicken, it is very easy to create an entire meal using only one pan.

Just add a green salad, and you’ve got dinner.

No matter how you choose to cook chicken, it is very important to be sure that it is cooked thoroughly. As mentioned above, chicken should always be cooked to an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees.

Many people are eliminating some red meat in favor of adding more chicken to their diet. This can be a very healthy choice as long as the chicken is prepared in a healthy way.
