Fat Burning Fruits

The Truth About “Fat Burning Fruits”

Are there really fat burning fruits? While it is not news that fruit is good for you, some people claim that eating certain fruits can actually help burn fat.  Unfortunately, the term “fat burning fruits” is a bit misleading.

While fat burning fruits are too good to be true, there is some truth to it, at least according to some experts. While not all agree, some think that certain foods, including certain fruits, take more calories to burn than they contain. That would mean that if you ate, for example, a 100 calorie orange, it might take 120 calories to digest.

Obviously, if you burn more calories than you ingest, that will result in a weight loss over time. However, that is not exactly the same thing as “burning fat”. Some people claim that eating certain fruits actually work to melt the fat off of your body. This is not the case as no food can do that. If there were a food that could literally melt the fat away, everyone would be a size six.

That being said, if you would like to try to include some of the foods that take a lot of calories to digest, try starting with apples, peaches and pineapple.

If you are feeling a little discouraged that you cannot actually melt away the pounds by downing enough fruit, take heart. If you start to include more fruit and vegetables in your diet, you are likely to experience weight loss.

Of course, the weight loss will not be the result of the pounds magically melting away, but instead you will be replacing less healthy choices with very healthy natural foods.

In addition to helping you lose weight, a diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables is very heart healthy. You will probably notice that you have more energy and that your skin will start looking a bit better as well.

Some people say that they just do not like eating fruit, but it should be looked at as something that really is not an option. It is not possible to eat a healthy diet that is void of fruits and vegetables. Ideally, you will eat a variety of both. If, however, there are only a few that you like, stick with those. Some fruit is better than no fruit.

It is best to eat the fruit in its natural form. If you cannot bring yourself to do that, you can include the fruit in smoothies or drink juice to replace some of the fruit servings.  You should include at least two to four servings of fruit in your diet each day. Additionally, you should include four to five servings of vegetables.

So what is the truth about fat burning fruits? Well, they won’t melt away the pounds, but they are an important part of a healthy diet that will help you lose weight the right way.

There is not magic to it, but fruit is necessary in order to both lose weight and be sure that your diet is as healthy as possible.
